There's nothing better than the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda to serve how we want to be in life. The two together help make this journey enjoyable as they bring peace within us and peace around us. Choosing these practices to be part of our life will help develop our physical health, raise awareness and create wonderful subtle effects that lead towards peace of mind and healing. Ayurveda shows us how we can feel good to ready ourselves more for our Yoga practices and not let accumulation of poor living take over.
Lets talk about the basics of why eating seasonally is a good move, what Yoga postures effect and the purpose of simplicity to create spaciousness. Lean in and start to implement simple changes and observe what happens. Get information in simple terms, practical advice, hands on experience and gentle suggestions for daily routine. You can practice in yoga in studio and personally at home as you choose, consider and observe connections between how you live, what you eat and how you feel.
Ayurveda is a natural system of health and healing - the science of life. We are guided by our limitless potential consisting of three fundamental qualities present in all living things —sattva (goodness, calm, harmony), rajas (passion, activity, movement) and tamas (ignorance, inertia, laziness). As we start to notice the “feel” of these fundamentals, we become more aware and empowered to make choices to serve our state of being gaining a fresh perspective and an expanded view of life.
Understanding ourselves is essential to wellbeing and longevity. Personal insights are thoroughly considered in lifestyle programs, guided by the principles of Ayurveda, our ancient science of nourishment. The combination of the five elements present in all living things gives rise to the doshas that make up our constitution including kapha (water, earth), pitta (fire, water) and vatta (air, ether). Insight about Ayurvedic constitutions and where we are now informs our approach.
A healthy combination of Yoga styles gives us the space to experience our personal yoga practice as we develop. With flow and food, experience paced movements, mindful breaths, time spent in postures, powerful pauses and un-complicated sequences. Work with the Ayurvedic six tastes and create nourishing satisfying balanced meals using a range of fresh seasonal vegetables, dairy, grains, fruits, legumes, meat, nuts and seeds. Practicing Yoga with Ayurveda is best. It is intuitive, personal and meaningful. It clears your path.
Because life wiggles and is never straight, approaching practice with compassion to what's been done, what we're doing and where we're at is essential. It is important to pay attention to cause and effect in our lives as we move through and how this shapes and nudges experiences. With flow and food, there's no judgement, only opportunity. Make a personal commitment to practice and gently observe each moment as it comes. We'll acknowledge showing up every time.
You can serve your wellbeing by being more aware of what you put into your body, what you choose to do with it, when and why. Knowing yourself is essential.
